Last night, President Obama delivered his yearly address. Mo Jobs.. a lil War talk.. some Bipartisanshit. Awkward clapping, because the old Conservative senators didn’t agree with half of what they were hearing, so they were counting sheep. But the majority of the speech was based around where America is headed in the future of technology. Math. Science. Internet this. Internet that. FACEBOOK!! …nerd talk. 98% of the U.S. with high-speed internet access is a good thing.
"Within the next five years, we will make it possible for business to deploy the next generation of high-speed wireless coverage to 98% of all Americans. This isn't just about a faster internet and fewer dropped calls. It's about connecting every part of America to the digital age. It's about a rural community in Iowa or Alabama where farmers and small business owners will be able to sell their products all over the world. It's about a firefighter who can download the design of a burning building onto a hand-held device; a student who can take classes with a digital textbook; or a patient who can have face-to-face video chats with her doctor."
As a conspiracy theorist, I’m always apprehensive when advancements move closer and closer toward (1984). Face-to-face video chats with my doctor are unnecessary. Email me. Text me. CALL me. But it seems like everyday THEY try to make you feel more and more comfortable with face-to-face communication. Cameras installed on large screens that you centrally place in EVERY room of your home, which are easily accessible to any tech-savy bloke. A company like Cisco which offer endless amounts of technology, have increased their marketing campaign and spent the majority of the budget on one thing… face to face interaction via your television. Cameras in my home and on my cell phone. GPS in EVERYTHING. “Hello-oooh.”
Anyway, I just liked the Obama artwork and wanted to post it, and fell into a rant. Excuse me.
